Active And Passive Voice Exercise

The word passive voice in traditional grammar refers to a form of sentence or clause in which the subject receives the verb’s action, while in active voice, the subject performs or causes the action to be portrayed by the verb. You will practice changing verbs from passive voice to active voice by turning the subject of a passive word into the direct object of an active verb in this exercise. When you’re finished, compare your updated sentences with those from the original sentences. The original sentence: The city was almost destroyed by the hurricane. Lightning struck the school. Mr. L. Arranged an elaborate supper for the miners.
